On Sunday 27th July, we held our Presidents’ Day and once again the weather was warm and dry for the event.
Twenty bowler’s names were put into a hat and pairs were drawn and split into two sections. The winners of section one would play against the winners of section two, to find the overall winners of the competition.
Both sections played at the same time. They played 3 games of 8 ends, with a cup of tea and biscuits in between each round. The winners of the first set were Mick Barrand and Norman Rose. The winners of the second set were Alan Simmons and Maggie Fisk.
The final was well matched with Mick and Norman coming out as overall winners, and our President Anne Jones presented the winners with their trophy.
Our President Anne nominated two charities; East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) and East Anglian Air Ambulance. She presented a member from each charity a cheque for £370.00 and these amounts are being matched by Gallagher Insurance and will be sent in due course.
Anne would like to personally thank Gallagher Insurance for their generosity, and Jenni King and Josie Felgate for helping to lay on wonderful spread for all the bowlers and guests to enjoy.
